VIDEO SUBMISSION RULES
D.O.AN Contest rules
Every month a new contest will occur. Choreographers will be able to choose their dance style for the competition. Up to fifteen videos will be chosen as the primary videos to be judged for the competition. The videos will be judged on several platforms such as dynamics, levels, repetition of movement, rhythm, shapes, space and time by judges with expertise on each and every dance style. Video entry must be five minutes in length including two minutes explaining yourself, the dance style, and the theme/meaning of the piece. Videos should be subtitled with music artist and song. *If this is unable to be done it should be included in intro. Actual choreography should be three minutes in length. Dance categories include Modern, ballet, Jazz, hip-hop liturgical, and ethnic dance.

Video Requirements
Your Video must meet the following guidelines:
Video must be equal to or no greater than five minutes long.
Video must showcase the choreographer in the intro and only the dancers in the piece. No solo performances unless it is part of the dance as a whole.
Video must showcase the choreographers original, unique, spontaneous, choreography.
Videos must be shot in a non-descript location or with a plain backdrop
Video must be submitted in one of the following formats: .mov .avi .mp4 .wmv .3g2 .3gp .amv .f4v .fbr .flv .mpg .mpeg .mts .ogm .tm .swf .m4v .ogg.
The Video must meet the following content restrictions:
Video must NOT exceed five minutes in play time
Video must be original choreography
Video must NOT exceed 100 MB in file size
Video must NOT contain material which is sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent, (e.g., relating to murder, the sales of weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, natural origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (e.g. underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane, or harassing
Choreography can not include steps that are obviously like an already performed piece. Must be original work.
Videos must NOT include 3rd party trademarks, logos, insignia, location signage, photographs, artwork, or sculpture
Entrants who submit Videos which violate any of these requirements may be deemed ineligible to receive the prize and their Submission may be void at DOANS sole discretion. DOAN reserve the right to disqualify in their sole and absolute discretion any Videos deemed inappropriate or that do not comply with the Contest Website's Terms of Use. Videos may not contain any derogatory references to any Contest Entities.
